What should I do if my car overheats while stuck in traffic?

Turn off the aircon, set the heater to full to pull heat away from the engine, and pull over safely as soon as you can. Then turn off the engine and let it cool down for at least 30 minutes. Never open the radiator cap while the engine is hot, and have the cooling system checked before you drive long distances again.
