How do I know when my brake pads need to be replaced?

Watch out for squealing or grinding noises when braking, longer stopping distances, a soft brake pedal, or the car pulling to one side. Brake pads usually last around 30,000 to 60,000 km, depending on your driving and traffic conditions. Have them checked during every PMS, because worn pads can damage the rotors and make repairs more expensive.
